Community partners provide ongoing support for our construction program and our Habitat families.
The Habitat construction program relies on in-kind donations of building materials and services. Two companies deserve special recognition for their long-term partnership and the extraordinary generosity of their contributions to Habitat:
We are grateful to the following companies for their ongoing commitment to Habitat. These companies are donating essential products or services for all of our Habitat homes.
$75,000 from United Way of Central Ohio helping to fund our ReBuild program in 2010.
$50,000 from the American Electric Power Foundation is helping to fund our Green Building Initiative and is funding the purchase of green build elements for five of our Habitat homes in 2010-2011.
$50,000 from the JPMorgan Chase Foundation was used to purchase the additional tools and equipment needed to increase our construction capacity and complete the John G. McCoy Circle multi-home project.
$39,387 from the Community Development Grant program of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources was used to purchase two new trucks for Habitat’s ReStore. We received this grant through the Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio (SWACO).
$30,000 from the American Electric Power Foundation was used to purchase new construction vehicles.
$30,000 from The Henry E. Coyle Fund of The Columbus Foundation allowed us to redesign our Habitat homes in 2008. Our new home designs, which we began using in 2009, offer a wide range of universal design and accessibility features. The new designs were created by M2 Design Group, who donated more than $20,000 in services toward the completion of this project.
